Re:Reaching new heights 10/09/2007 12:05 AM |   | i think the height thing is right but the heigher you go the further your shot becomes, except in the case like mine where the above ground is where you are shooting for. If you were shooting down hill you would have a stretched out shot for sure.

I figured if I got high enough I could see him. I ultimately got the buck but I have to say it was a pretty scary treestand. If the wind blew you would move like 5ft to the left or right. Anyway just be careful I never hunted that stand on a windy day. | They can have my bow when they pry it from my cold dead fingers! |

The tree (old oak) i have to use is on the side of a fairly steep ridge side but the deer are above it, so it is 22’ to the bottom of the platform. It is a great tree just a bit of a climb so i will be wearing my harness when in this stand (always do no matter what).
