auto fill of weather
It is now September 2016. Has there been any advancement in resolving the autofill option for the weather? This is actually a very nice feature when it worked.

some tips about hunting turkey.....
Turkey hunting in the fall is quite different from hunting turkeys in the spring. For one thing, it is not breeding season so turkey calls are not of as much use. In the fall, turkeys separate into groups of hens and poults or groups of gobblers. If you see one hen, you are not likely to see a gobbler in the entire flock. Turkeys tend to stay down in the open fields eating bugs until a hard freeze. They will then migrate up into the hardwood forests for beech nuts, acorns, etc. You can determine when this has happened by locating turkey scratchings in the leaves. If you know where they are roosting and where they are feeding, you can position yourself between the two areas. If you walk in too close to their roost, they will hear you and avoid you when they fly down.  Hunting is allowed all day long within designated hunting hours. Again, turkeys harvested must be checked-in at a checking station. This release we are going to be doing in about a couple of  hours should have alot of issues resolved. Most of the issues that were fixed dealt with date and time handleing (non US residents). Plus we added a new photo manager (DeerDays Cam Manager). Which we are writing help files and sound files right now.

As far as the blacktailed deer goes you would put in a comment letting us know that it is not whitetail deer or you can give us your harvest ID. We will keep your data seperate from the data that we collect from other users.

The amount of data that it takes to find a good trend is unknown. you might put in your information in for one month and we could see a pattern that matches one of our formulas and we could have it figured out in no time. It could also take up to 10 years if it does not match any of our current formulas. We collect data every two months. At very least it will take two months as we plan to harvest soon.

If I can get the next release to work without the issues I have had so far I will input my data for blacktails and promote it to others as well.

How much input do you require before you start to see enough of a trend to make the compilations available?

I looked at the raw XML data and it reports whitetail doe for my one entry, will data I input be reported as blacktails on your end?

I would love to be able to tell you that this program works with the other species that you mentioned. Unfortunately I cannot. We have had a ongoing database that we have kept for 30 years on whitetail deer. We have not tested this on the other species. I am not saying that this formula would not work for these species but we could not support this claim until it was thoroughly tested by our team. I am fairly confident that our formula would work with the cervidae (deer) family because their biology is very similar. Unfortunatly we can not come to any conclusion on my theory until it was thoroughly tested.

If you would like to put in the data we would be glad to track that information for you and then we could test for patterns and if we could come up with good enough results then we could modify DeerDays to track other species of deer.

The whole concept of deer days is great but it doesn’t do much for those of us who are in areas with species other than whitetails.

I am on Vancouver Island where we have only blacktails.. sure would be nice to expand the program database to include mulies, blacktails, elk even bears... it seems to me this could potentially be a very popular tool for many people.
