auto fill of weather
It is now September 2016. Has there been any advancement in resolving the autofill option for the weather? This is actually a very nice feature when it worked.

some tips about hunting turkey.....
Turkey hunting in the fall is quite different from hunting turkeys in the spring. For one thing, it is not breeding season so turkey calls are not of as much use. In the fall, turkeys separate into groups of hens and poults or groups of gobblers. If you see one hen, you are not likely to see a gobbler in the entire flock. Turkeys tend to stay down in the open fields eating bugs until a hard freeze. They will then migrate up into the hardwood forests for beech nuts, acorns, etc. You can determine when this has happened by locating turkey scratchings in the leaves. If you know where they are roosting and where they are feeding, you can position yourself between the two areas. If you walk in too close to their roost, they will hear you and avoid you when they fly down.  Hunting is allowed all day long within designated hunting hours. Again, turkeys harvested must be checked-in at a checking station. I had the same problem.  I had to go into the exe properties (find the .exe in the deerdays folder and click it) and have it run in windows xp compatibility mode and also allow it to run with administrator privlages.

Fixed my issues and working good.

Only thing I have a problem with is mine wont get the current days weather...it says put in valid city etc...and I do have all that filled in.

Thanks,

Steve

This is a problem that has been found and resolved. it will be fixed on the next release.

I am trying to install it on my HP Pavilion and am logged into the laptop as the administrator. It runs Windows Vista Ultimate. Do you know of any way to correct it?

This is a permissions error. your user that your logged in as must have permissions to read, write, execute in the folder that it’s telling you about.

Conatact your system administrator for further assistance.

I open deer days and after filling in the new location and clicking finish I get:

You have encountered an unhanled eception.

Access to the path ’C:/Program File (x86)/DeerDays.xml’ is denied

But if I go to Deer Days Properties/Sortcut tab/Advanced Properties/  but then I cannot select any box to change it to run as administrator.
