auto fill of weather
It is now September 2016. Has there been any advancement in resolving the autofill option for the weather? This is actually a very nice feature when it worked.

some tips about hunting turkey.....
Turkey hunting in the fall is quite different from hunting turkeys in the spring. For one thing, it is not breeding season so turkey calls are not of as much use. In the fall, turkeys separate into groups of hens and poults or groups of gobblers. If you see one hen, you are not likely to see a gobbler in the entire flock. Turkeys tend to stay down in the open fields eating bugs until a hard freeze. They will then migrate up into the hardwood forests for beech nuts, acorns, etc. You can determine when this has happened by locating turkey scratchings in the leaves. If you know where they are roosting and where they are feeding, you can position yourself between the two areas. If you walk in too close to their roost, they will hear you and avoid you when they fly down.  Hunting is allowed all day long within designated hunting hours. Again, turkeys harvested must be checked-in at a checking station. Good observations Reminess!  If you’re talking about the 11th, it was a shade of orange, and like you said, it is not a great day to see deer but certainly better than a red day.  Based on the data we have, on 10/11/08 the most likely time to have seen deer would have been early morning; however, based on our DeerDays Periodic Calculator (not released yet), a secondary best time to see deer would be mid-afternoon and a little bit of late afternoon.  Our periodic times are set to standard time not daylight savings time so that would have put the beginning of the latest time at about 4:30PM (5:30PM daylight savings time) meaning that this would have been near the end of the feeding period; so your sighting would have been within the limits.  As per the barometric pressure, there are a lot of theories out on this one, but is seems like the most common is that deer seem to move when the pressure is changing (such as a storm moving in) as apposed to static pressure; some research indicates that deer move better when the barometer is somewhere between 29.5 and 30.5.  Weather certainly has the most affect of the deer movement and would override our database calculations; it is a good idea to always be cognate of the weather and changes.  One of the items I take to the woods is the Deer Hunter’s Edge by Speedtech Instruments.  It gives me the barometric pressure on demand and forecast any changes.  I hope this has been helpful.  Happy Hunting!

I know when the day is red it usually means that the deer will move in the late afternoon or early morning. If you see anything at all it will be nearly dark.

According to deerdays yesterday wasn’t a good day to see deer,  And I didn’t see any deer all day but in the afternoon my GPS came up with a weather advisory about 3 PM. I need to learn more about that part, anyway about 5.30 PM I was driving into VT to get gas and saw 6 deer in one yard and 4 in another with the bow season open within 1 mile and it didn’t get dark for another hour. so what does this mean ? was it the weather change that made the deer move early ?

I bagged a 7pt just before a rain. Then I had to drag it up a hill while it so I could get it up to the Badboy. Took me an hour and it started raining so Iwas cold too.

I have found that right after a very long rain the deer move like crazy. for about 3 hours.

They can have my bow when they pry it from my cold dead fingers!

I hate to hear that your gun didn’t go off (especially on a 10 point).  Nice job baggin the 7pt, you did better than I did this weekend.  I saw lots of deer yesterday and today, but nothing worth shooting.  Oh... by the way do you have any pictures of the 7pt?
