That place must be similar to hunting in SW Texas were I have seen as many as 400 deer in a large wheat patch feeding at the same time. Leases of 1000 acres each on the Chadborne Ranch in Texas have to take 30 does a season or they loose the lease. These are interesting places! |

BARC and PWC are great because there is 20,000 acres between them and kills do not count against your tags. You are allowed 2 bucks at each and unlimited does.

We as hunter need to rember that what a trophy in one person eye, may not be the same in a nother person eye, and also never take more than you need. hear in mo. we can only get one buck wether be rifl or muzzleloader but you may buy as many antleres tag as you need. wich i will kill 4 deer a year. And also IF THAT BUCK does not live up to your standers Iwill let it walk next year will come. we hear in this state have a doe problem. trying to put hunter in a state of mind to shot more does, is a problem but there we go again what a trophy in one person eyes, may not be anothers to me antler can make good soup. hunting get us out of the everyday grind, and give us the that time to are self that we do not get that often. with work the kids and the in everyday stress. We as hunter all need to help each other out in order to keep hunting in the year to come wether you bowhunt , rifile, muzzlloader, or crossbow. just remeber we all love to hunt. |

His 6 point may be like one of mine that I shot for an 8 point (had dark antlers but no G1s), but it grossed near the 160 class. We have a 7 point on our property that will be in this class next year. I put the scope on him this past gun season but just couldn’t talk myself into pulling the trigger; he just needed to grow at least one more year (he’s in the 130s). I’ve watched this deer for the last few years (since he was in the 1.5 year class) and he has always been a 7 point, and will be a 7 point next season if he doesn’t get in a fight with the deer that’s got my name on it! I looked at your 160, nice rack! Looks like a bottom land hardwood deer, good mass! |

And are there any rules about deer age and size b/c killing 6ptrs is about as hard as shooting a yearling doe. Sorry to sound so rude but I as well as many other hunters out there pass those little guys all day long in hopes that in a few years he will be a big boy (wall hanger) like the buck I killed this yr or last or the season b4. I watch them grow and learn thier patterns and give them time to mature and all that mixed with Muzzy Broad-head does the trick! Good luck hunting! I think it was the 6th of October. very warm and nasty day to hunt. But I did it anyhow. felt like crap for 2 days after that. hottest day I ever hunted. I will be back down there for the shotgun season. |
