auto fill of weather
It is now September 2016. Has there been any advancement in resolving the autofill option for the weather? This is actually a very nice feature when it worked.

some tips about hunting turkey.....
Turkey hunting in the fall is quite different from hunting turkeys in the spring. For one thing, it is not breeding season so turkey calls are not of as much use. In the fall, turkeys separate into groups of hens and poults or groups of gobblers. If you see one hen, you are not likely to see a gobbler in the entire flock. Turkeys tend to stay down in the open fields eating bugs until a hard freeze. They will then migrate up into the hardwood forests for beech nuts, acorns, etc. You can determine when this has happened by locating turkey scratchings in the leaves. If you know where they are roosting and where they are feeding, you can position yourself between the two areas. If you walk in too close to their roost, they will hear you and avoid you when they fly down.  Hunting is allowed all day long within designated hunting hours. Again, turkeys harvested must be checked-in at a checking station. Buck , Like coldbeer said you can not perdict the rut . but when the bucks start chaseing the does it is on like donkey kong. you will start seeing more agressive rubs . so early season i will not use a cover scent ill use scent free like a base layer or hs scents spray. cause i feel if you use a cover scent early season it would be just plain doe urin no estrus . if you use a fox urine i think deer do not like to be around a fox because a fox is a predator. the best thing i thought would work good is squirrle urine because they are in the woods all the time . lol

end of october thru nov. ill use doe in heat by code blue and the tarsal gland by code blue use these 2 things and i tell you what it will happen. because a dominant buck in the area will not tollerate another buck playing with his women lol . be like you comeing home and smelling mens colonge and its not yours . well you get the picture . well i hope this sheds some light on your hunting.  Good luck in the field !

Ohio season opens sat. Sweeeet.

buckwheat is correct. The end of october to late december (if I had to pick a time) is a good time to start useing those kinds of scents. But as buckwheat said it’s more geared to the rut and there is no specific time that you can mark on the calendar that starts the rut. Yes it does seem to be about the same time every year but it varies from year to year. This means that you have to look at the deer sign. How I know when it’s time to start useing those scents is when I start noticeing scrapes being hit frequently. However you also have to know that when the rut is in full swing the bucks stop useing their scrapes because they are following the does around. This is actually my favorite time to use these scents (seems to always happen around early/mid november in Arkansas). Hope this helps.

Well I think when it comes to Scents everyone has their own opinion on what works for them.  What i think Coldbeer was trying to tell you were scents such as Doe in Estrous which all scent companies make, you should not use in the early season because it is geared for the rut.  So you wouldn’t want to use that until the end of october being from Ohio.  I have heard that people will use a young buck urine during the early season just to keep the deer that are coming in at ease but I have personally not done that.  Thats my take I am sure preditor and coldbeer can add a lot about it.

Hi buck, I think I can field some of those questions for you. It sounds like your doing the right thing about not checking your feed place all the time. In my opinion the less human scent present the better. Acorn Rage is a deer attractant I have never personally used it but if Predator says it works then it probably does. He’s a real expert around here. The pellet style feeder he’s talking about is a feeder that can dispense corn/pellets. The pellets he’s useing is probably the same stuff I put in my feeders. It’s more nutricious for them than corn and once they find it they seem to come in more regularly than that of corn.

ok, now the deer scent question is in a totaly different ball game. I break down scents into 3 categories: 1. Food scent 2. Curiosity scent and 3. sex scent. 1. Food scent - This is something that will apeal to the deer in the way of food when they smell it they think {mmm... that smells delicious} and they come in and investigate. 2. Curiosity scent is when the deer has never smelt anything like this before and gets curious as to what it is and wants to see for themselves. 3. sex scents are pointed to the deer’s need to reproduce. These cover your deer piss and estrous. {these scents are very effective on bucks however they have to be used in the correct time. This early in the season is not the correct time for them.}

I hope this answers some of your questions.

Ok Buck i personally use a deer feeder and put my trail camera on it to do my scouting. i do this year round so they are use to coming to the feeder and the trail camera tells me what time they are coming to the feeder . if you was to bait deer the night before you hunt , you run the risk of going in and bumping them out on the first day. feed them year round and get those pics. and if you was gonna feed the day you hunt put down acorn rage dude they love it. i use a pellet style feed from our kalmbach feeds and it is called deer feed and it is apple flavor. my timer is set for 6 seconds in the morning and 6 seconds in the evening ( before dusk ). so i hope this has been useful to ya. and happy hunting see ya in the field !!!!
